[‘Abstract Expressionist’ collages, playing further with the photocalligraphic images of bark-against-sky I took with my simple Olympus Tough point-and-shoot.The last two collages obviously also use reeds-against-water and bird/branches-against-sky. The bird is a kookaburra, famous for its laughter. Did not use any black-and-white effect, these were the natural silhouettes against a misty sky early evening.

As Buddha’s Heart Sutra notes: form is emptiness, emptiness is form… can’t have one without the other…

As a visual experiment, maybe try focussing on the forms, then on the emptiness/negative space, and back again, alternating…like stepping back from thoughts and sensing the alert spaciousness in which they arise, our true identity…]
