[Sonnet written and photos taken at Jervis Bay, south coast of New South Wales. Enjoy.]

slab of land like a lizard
ending in a white pimple
ship-flashing its eyelid nights

its day hazed as a hangover
or misplaced glasses
till the southerly kicks in

white static on screen-grey
water & upside down
heave mirrors upside

down sky layered
in drizzle & frissons
of warm winter

in this cool sweater
of a la ninja summer
