Kind of a Love Sonnet

Kind of a Love Sonnet

Of love to speak these times would almost ban
Given Cars Love Shell, masochists whips,
And some attach svelte cords to ceiling fans
That tighten jugulars till they orgasm hips.

Why post-modern love so often seems a hole
That swallows lovers both consumed
By greed to be loved, completed, whole,
Is a query unsuited to sonnets, presumed

Untouched by time or TV. Bullshit, of course,
Like time and TV, both images we construct
Like lovers finding soul mates or worse
On YouTube. Love today seems out of luck.

Oh bugger all that, woman, I’d just like to say:
Your looks lock in a love that just won’t go away.
